Namibia’s spectacular scenic beauty and diverse colourful bird-
and wildlife as well as the noises of the African nights, can only be
experienced on a adventurous camping safari into the remote and isolated
regions far off the normal tourist route.
For more than 20 years has
Namibia Tracks & Trails been
organising lodge- and camping tours in Namibia and offer all the
excitement of a true African experience backed by the know-how to make
it a truly memorable trip.
We keep social responsibility in mind, when planning and executing
trips. We support ecological tourism, and are fully aware of the fact
that tourism can have an affect on the natural environment of wildlife
and cultural diversity of indigenous people.
All our guides are dedicated conservationists with a sound knowledge of
the fauna, flora and cultures of the region. They love their country,
have been raised in it and know what is has to offer. They speak three
languages and are able to communicate with the ethnic groups of Namibia.
All our safaris are offered on a non participation basis with the entire
camping equipment supplied by us, i.e.

Comfortable dome tents: 2.4 m x 2.4 m x 1.8 m.

Sleeping rolls, which consist of comfortable canvas
zip up cover with comfortable mattress, proper duvets, cushion,
towels and linen.

Camping fold up beds.

Electric tent lantern and bedside table.

Fold up canvas washing stand.
-
Solar bucket showers (1x for every 4 guests).
-
Long-drop bush toilets (1x for every 4 guests).

Three wholesome meals are served at table. Breakfast is
“full English” style. Lunch consists of cold meats, salads, pickled
cucumbers, olives, asparagus, fresh vegetables and fruit. Dinner is a
three course meal. At dinner, wine and beer are part of the deal - so
are sun-downer drinks, i.e gin tonic or even a Scotch.
Transport is by custom built non air conditioned Land Rovers
guaranteeing a window seat per client with a 1 plus 4 clients seat or 1
plus 6 clients seat configuration. Vehicles are equipped with huge
sliding windows and photo roof hatches. Each vehicle is equipped with a
fridge to keep the drinks cold.
The joy of camping in Namibia is being able to get off the beaten track
to experience the beautiful wilderness and nature.
Namibia Tracks & Trails is a registered member of the “Tour and Safari
Association of Namibia- TASA- and the Namibia Tourism Board -NTB.

It is off the beaten track, and many of the areas visited do not have
the infrastructure that the package tourist may require.
Our experienced Namibian guides and well-equipped four wheel drive
vehicles and equipment promise an unforgettable adventure.The knowledge and expertise of these guides have been invaluable in
putting together camping tours, which take you into sometimes desolate
and inhospitable
terrain.

DISCOVER KAOKOLAND
(PTS 01) Swakopmund to Swakopmund 12 days/ 11 nights camping safari This guided safari offers the client a perfect opportunity to experience
namibias infrastructureless north west. Encounter Namibias desert
adapted elephants, the nomadic cultural Ovahimbas, the mighty Kunene
river and its spectacular Epupa waterfalls and the beauty of the
Hartmann valley in total isolation far from the normal tourist routes.
The tour ends with a final relaxing overnight at Palmwag Lodge ( or
similar ) before returning back to Swakopmund via Twyfelfontein and its
famous rock engravings

KAOKOLAND / KUNENE RIVER
(PTS 02) 7 days, 6 nights Departure Palmwag Lodge into central Kaokoland, in the Hoarusib river
area near the village of Orupembe and continue into the Marien River
Valley. Meet the
Ovahimba and get acquainted with their ancient customs and traditional
way of life. Explore the Hartmann Valley during your two nights camping
in the Hartman
valley. The return trip traverses the eastern border of the Skeleton
Coast via the Hoarusib and the Hoanib River to Palmwag Lodge.

EPUPA- AND OVAHIMBA EXPERIENCE
(PTS 03) 4 days / 3 nights Departure from Palmwag Lodge via Sesfontein to a number of Ovahimba
settlements in the Kaokoland and to the Epupa Waterfalls on the mighty
Kunene River.
Enjoy overnight camping on the banks of the magical waterfalls and day
time walks to eplore the surroundings. Return to Palmwag Lodge on day
four via Fort
Sesfontein.

ON THE TRACKS
OF DESERT ELEPHANTS AND BLACK RHINO AND OVAHIMBA EXPERIENCE

be spent tracking down the famous desert elephant as well as the
threatened black rhino
in the 5000 km² private concession area of Palmwag Lodge. Your return

(PTS 06) 5 days / 4 nights The safari starts from Palmwag Lodge and continues over the Sesfontein
Pass into the centre of Kaokoland. Experience the nomadic way of life of
the Ovahimba
and enjoy three overnight stays in the Hoarusib River. A chance meeting
with the desert elephant in the Hoanib River will be the definite
highlight of your day. Spend
a night under starry skies, close to the elephant. Return trip to
Palmwag Lodge via Fort Sesfontein and surroundings.

OVAHIMBA EXPERIENCE (PTS 07) Start your safari from Palmwag Lodge and continue over the Sesfontein
Pass to Kaoko Otavi in the Hoarusib River, where you will camp under
starry skies.
Experience the nomadic way of life of the Ovahimba and learn about their
ancient traditions. Return via Fort Sesfontein and surroundings to
Palmwag Lodge.
