Depart Swakopmund at sunrise following the Swakop River where you will witness the early morning shadows accentuate the geological features of the Moon Landscape and those of the river bed which has been carved through some of the oldest granites on the planet. Turning north you'll see the Klein, and the Grosse Spitzkoppe These granite inselbergs pushed their way up through the softer sedimentary rocks some 130 million years ago during the early stages of the break-up of Gondwanaland. Since then ongoing wind and weather erosion of the softer surrounding rocks has left the mountain standing some 1730 meters above the desert floor. To the east you have a birds eye view of the grandiose Western Wall of the Erongo Mountains which are of similar age. Your flight then steers for the Brandberg Mountain which is home to over 45,000 bushmen painting including the famous "White Lady of Brandberg" and has the Konigstein as Namibia's highest point at xxx meters. Then flying along the 'normally' dry Ugab River bed you might catch views of oryx and sometimes the elusive desert elephant.  You arrive at the Skeleton Coast where you fly down to Cape Cross where Diogo Còo the Portuguese explorer mariner landed in January 1486 and erected a Padräo to claim this land for King Joäo II and Christ. Here you will see the largest colony of Cape Fur Seals, some playing in the surf. Returning along the coast to Swakopmund

6. Himba Adventure near Opuwo. Fly and Drive Combination Tour.

This tour contains all of the sights you would see on the Damaraland Tour. And also takes you deep into Kaokoland, a vast and remote part of North West Namibia. This is the tribal lands of the Himba people, nomadic herdsmen who settled this secluded part of Namibia during the migrations of the mid-second millennia. Many of their traditions and words are similar to those of the tribes-people of the Great-Lakes-Region of East-Africa.

The Himba are of the same group as the Herero. It was during the inter-tribal power struggles of the mid-nineteenth century between the Nama of the south and the Herero that this group, owing to their remoteness survived the ethnic cleansings of the Nama War-Lord Jonker Afrikaner, and until quite recently the pressures of modern society. The Himba hold-on dearly to their traditional way of life. But, for how long this can, or will continue remains to be seen.

Your flight lands at Opuwo where your Tour Guide with 4x4 awaits to take you to a Himba Village.
